BRANDING

Sorenson Impact Institute

The Sorenson Impact Institute (SII) is a social impact research organization and consultancy housed within the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business. When I joined the Institute in 2021 as Creative Director, I managed a complete overhaul of the visual language and all marketing materials. Leadership had a desire to make the Institute brand more playful and approachable.

This was more than just a re-brand of the Institute; it included the logo re-design of each entity within the Sorenson Impact Group (SIG), and re-vamp of the Sorenson Impact Foundation's website. Jim Sorenson, the founder of the Sorenson Impact Foundation, endowed the Institute in 2013.

The family of Sorenson Impact companies began with the idea that venture capital could be leveraged for positive social change. The half-circle shapes in the logo icon represent the ripple effect that capital can have, while simultaneously representing the "S" in Sorenson.
